Star wars is a fictional franchise movie series which is directed by George Lucas. This is Lucas’ second hit movie project which was fueled by Fox. Four years down the line of production, it was finally released in 1977. The shootings were located in Tunisia and California at Death Valley.

The first episode of the star wars movie series released in 1977 which is entitled as “star wars episode IV – A new Hope”. In this episode, the star wars characters, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and the iron fisted regime of the Galactic Empire are introduced. When Luke is in his home planet, Tatooine, an exiled Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised as an old hermit called Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness) looks after him. After realizing his capabilities, Luke goes ahead to team up with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and they join the Rebels. They destroy the Death star recuing Princess Leia. However, Obi-Wan Kenobi meets his death after engaging in combat with Vander also known as Anakin Skywalker (David Prowse; Voiced by James Earl Jones).

lukeAfter the success of the first episode, Lucas went on to produce the “The Empire Strikes Back, episode V” in 1980. At this time, Luke and Han experience defeat from the emperor and Luke progresses to receive training from Grand Master Yoda. However, when still in training, he gets news that Leia and Han have been captured by the Emperor on Bespin and goes to try and rescue them. When there, he collides with Vader who confronts him and defeats him. Later on, Luke learns that the man who confronted him is in fact Anakin Skywalker, his father. On the other side, Leia breaks free with the help of Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) who is an old friend of Han Solo although Han remains in captivity.

In 1983, “star wars episode VI – Return of the Jedi” was released. Finally Han solo is rescued by Luke and his team from Jabba the Hutt who is the evil lord. Luke returns to Yoda to complete his training but finds him on his death where he affirms to Luke that Vader is his father. Moments later, the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi informs him that Leia is his sister. He also tells him to successfully become a Jedi he needs to confront his father. The Rebel alliance go to attack the Second Death star whereas Vader and Luke engage in another lightsaber feud but now in the presence of the emperor. Vader pokes Luke by telling him that he’ll introduce his sister to the dark world and an enraged Luke overpowers Vader. However he holds back and spares his father. The emperor attempts to finish off Luke but Vader gets to him first. A redeemed Anakin dies at the hands of his son and the rebels succeed in destroying the Second Death Star.

This three star wars episode were the original trilogy of star wars movie series. After the first movie, it is preceded by two sequel movies which are the fifth and fifth episodes of the Star Wars series. Lucas took it upon him to make changes on the trilogy by doing cleaning-up and restoring the work. The first filming of the trilogy was done in 1997 in the theatre, VHS and Laserdisc. In 2004, it was executed on DVD and on Blu-ray disc in 2011. After the star wars trilogy, Lucas went ahead to produce three more episodes which were based on the earlier years before the trilogy. The prequel trilogy include; Star Wars Episode I – the phantom menace, Episode II – attack of the clones and finally Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in 1999, 2002 and 2005 respectively.
